Amanda M. Kern, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of special education at UNO. She is a former special education teacher, and completed her doctoral training at UMass Amherst. Her areas of research include learning disabilities with an emphasis on reading difficulties, dyslexia, literacy assessment, and literacy data application in instructional decision-making. She serves on the board for the Nebraska Dyslexia Association, and is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children, and the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading.
